Abby is an engaging and versatile contemporary dancer with a background in jazz, ballet, and hip hop.
She spent five years as a company member with Chicago-based dance company Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre. Performance highlights include works by Joanna Rosenthal, Carl Flink and Faye Driscoll in locations such as the Pritzker Pavilion and Lincoln Center. She is currently freelancing in New York City.
Abby was awarded the Lynne Ann Blom Award for Outstanding Dance Major from Northwestern University, where she received her BS in Dance in 2010.
Abby began walking tightwire at 13-years-old with the Vermont-based youth circus company, Circus Smirkus. She performed with Smirkus for six years training under coaches Molly Saudek and Ariele Ebacher. Abby has performed repeatedly with the Midnight Circus in performances including Chicago’s Circus In the Parks Tour, the Montréal Complètement Cirque Festival and the Kennedy Center’s Look Both Ways: Street Art Across America Festival.
Abby is a BASI certified Pilates Instructor based out of New York City. In 2014, she completed the 500-hour Comprehensive Apparatus Training program under the mentorship of master instructor Cindy Reid.
Abby incorporates her rich movement background into her teaching practice, helping her clients find alignment, strengthen imbalances and have fun connecting to their bodies. She is a featured contributor to the health and wellness website, MindBodyGreen.
